Proud of you Ri. Kept it hot and tasteful at the same time.

I see that I’ve still been getting lots of views in the past year even though I haven’t been posting… so let’s try to renourish this blog with photos and write ups about my indefinite inspirations!

“Accessories are important and becoming more and more important every day. They can completely change the look of an outfit, and women like the idea of having a wardrobe that’s versatile. For instance, a strong piece of jewelry can make a simple outfit look elegant.”

–            Giorgio Armani

Bang on. Of course, we all have those fashion pieces that we truly adore. The big beads, the colorful charms, the stones and the chains.. we make up our best outfits using some key pieces.

But we never forget our classic pieces. Usually, they are our pieces of jewelery that our most important to us. They have sentimental value, and have belonged to us for so long, that they are almost a part of us. Some have stories, some remind us of special people, and some are just to pretty to not wear every day. I never see Kaylee Pare without her signature rings, or Ariela Moyal without her Tiffany’s key. Some things just become part of our everyday style, where we feel naked without them. Here is a post on my favorite and most important pieces : )

My Nonna gave these to me not long ago. Although they are not part of my everyday get-up, they are some of my favorite earrings.

My trademark elephant ring. Not many days go by where I don't look down at my typing fingers without seeing this on one of them. A gift from my first communion that I will most definitely never part without! The second ring was my late grandmothers gift to my mama, and has now been passed down to me. It has 7 rings which represent the 7 days of the week (or my 7 besties if we want to update the meaning) and is connected by a dangling heart. I don't usually wear one of these 2 rings without the other one.

The first necklace which has the charms of a cross, an anchor, and a heart represent the three theological virtues of faith, hope and charity/love respectively. I believe I've had this charm since my baptism at a few months old. The amethyst charm was also my mother's. On the right is my fendi charm that I bought on my trip to Florence a couple of summers ago. It has my initial on it.

Lastly, my Citizens of Hope bracelet that my bestie Kaylee Pare got me this past Christmas as my Secret Santa gift. I've been wearing it with my gold link bracelet, which also dates back to my Holy first communion and confirmation days. #ohtobeitalian. This one also has a little heart pendent on the clasp.

What jewelry do you wear every day?

My pick for best dressed. Photo from

As I’m sitting here blogging through a somewhat boring Oscars, I can’t get over how stunning Mila Kunis looks tonight. In this Elie Saab lavender gown, detailed with lace and chiffon, she looks sexy and feminine. The hair, the makeup.. flawless on all accounts. It’s clear that she’s an effortless beauty, but she definitely picked the perfect dress. Although red was a dominant colour for the night, purple hues were also frequent. Who was your pic for best dressed?

Scarlett Johanssen in Dolce & Gabbana. Cate Blanchett in Givenchy. Mila Kunis in Elie Saab. Natalie Portman in Rodarte.

I’ve been a Girl Talk fan for a while now, and last time they were in Montreal for Osheaga, I compromised the wacky Girl Talk show for a fireworks filled performance by Coldplay.

March 1st will be the day that Girl Talk returns to Montreal. I just bought my tickets… and I am very INCREDIBLY excited! I was just pumping myself up for the show, when I came across this music video, which was actually created by a Concordia Communications professor and his class. It’s an awesome vid (with 1.5 million hits!), take a look!

If you ever need to be inspired for an outfit, or you need a good laugh… look for @nicolerichie on twitter. Since the days when we saw the celebrity goofball on The Simple Life, Nicole has proven herself as an entrepreneur styling queen and fashion icon. Here are some pics from REMIX magazine she recently posted to her twitter account.

À tantôt, Carine February 13, 2011

As we know, Carine Roitfeld announced her resignation in December from a most sought-after position at French Vogue. As the former Editor-in-Chief, Carine has been a style icon and fashion diva. Her effortless style and casual swagger keeps her looking classy and timeless in every paparazzi snapshot and front-row fashion show. Not to mention that at 57 years old, she’s got better legs than most 22 year old girls I know.

Enjoy some pics of my favorite Carine pics.

Her previous model days

With Mrs. DVF

She's so badass with her banged up knee

And she's able to pull of bandaids at a fashion show

Carine and Anna.. no big deal

I can identify with her party skills

You know my motivation given my reputation January 20, 2011

So, big girls night saturday night. It somehow happened that all 18 of us girls congregating happened to be single… so what more reason is there to party!

Not only are we going out, but we are going big.

I should have potentially come up with a post that would inspire the evening’s outfit… however, I instead came across this music video and thought I would get the party started. It’s proof that today’s television rating standards are far more racy than ever before. Enrique, Enrique, Enrique…this video shouldn’t be considered to air on daytime television… it should, however, be considered as soft core porn [I hope I don’t mislead any web surfers for including those google adwords in this post].

Anyways – this is a hot song. If you listen to Virgin Radio, you’re sure to have already heard it more than you can stand. I thought I would get the ball rolling on this weekend’s party countdown, so watch the vid and buy the song on iTunes.

Happy Weekend everyone!
